Ron Paul (R-Tex) introduced a bill to legalize industrial hemp and in July, he introduced a bill to allow states to control medical hemp. The battle over states’ control over medical hemp heated up in late 2012. In February, 2013, three bills were introduced in Congress for medical hemp. In 2014, 21 states and the District of Columbia have laws that legalize/regulate hemp for medicinal purposes.
