The article Unbelievable, but undeniable: Genocide in Canada says that the U.N. definition of genocide is "acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group."

The abuses in Native Canadian schools were shared by Native American kids in the Indian Residential Schools in the U.S.

​

Maine's Truth and Reconciliation Comisssion is working to heal and stop those abuses in that state. Established in 2011, it is the first TRC in the U.S.
