Chief Oren Lyons is the Faithkeeper of the Onondaga Nation (one of the Six Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy or Haudenosaunee). In the video below, he explains how he came to learn that we are all part of the Earth.

Chief Lyons is a highly-regarded and internationally-acclaimed speaker on human rights, leadership, as well as global climate and environmental issues. He was the keynote speaker at the United Nations in 1992 at "The International Year of the World's Indigenous People". He has been a speaker at the World Economic Forum in Davos. 

Chief Lyons is a member of the Executive Committee of the Global Forum of Spiritual and Parliamentary Leaders on Human Survival and is one of the most influential people in the Traditional Circle of Indian Elders . He is a professo at the Institute for American Studies at the State University of New York, Buffalo. Chief Lyons appeared in Leonardo DiCaprio's documentary "The 11th Hour" in 2007. Since 2008, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Swedish-American company Plantagon which pioneered vertical agriculture and an ethical business model.
