The 90-minute film Consumed went online on March 22.  It is a well-done, suspenseful, informative, real-life thriller -- tying together the experiences of an American mother, an organic farmer, farmers in India, and the head of an American firm producing GMO crops. Probably the most effective scene is at the end when the family is attending a sports event and the star sees what everyone is eating. That is going to cause the audience to begin to question the foods that they have been consuming. The last scene brings home the point made in the ad for the film says, "What are you eating?"

The film costs $6 to rent on Amazon. The end of the film refers viewers to the film site: http://www.consumedthemovie.com/  where the "Take Action" section links people to the Just Label It site where people can learn more. However, since 38 countries ban GMOs, that should be the goal for the US. Labeling is just an interim step to help wake people up. However, as the star of the film shows, we can each ban GMOs in our own lives just by going organic now. Each dollar we spend on food is a vote for health or disease -- and reverberates all the way up the food chain.

This is a paradigm-shaking film that will speak especially to a lot of Americans.
